What are caring communities like?

We asked the students at Koo Wee Rup Primary School (P – Year 6) their thoughts:

We found out in caring communities people help each other, even if they don’t know each other. There is no bullying and there are plenty of people to keep you safe.

  • The gingerbread people in our story, helped each other get over the river.
  • You have lots of people to put in your five fingers of safety: Mum, teachers, police, friend and brain.
  • Your safety hand can have sister, friends, police, dog and mum.
  • Good fun playing sport.
  • No bullying.
  • In a caring community, people look after each other.
  • Delete people who bully or say bad things. Try and be nice to them.
  • Don’t accept people online that you don’t know.
  • In caring communities, people take care of each other, friends and family and others.
  • Telling anyone to hit someone is wrong
  • Walk away when someone is mean
  • People tell me to kill myself and drink bleach on my YouTube account but I ignore them
  • I am very skilful and I like to help people with what I’m good at
  • Girls can do anything a boy can do
  • Having fun
  • Feeling safe
  • Not being mean
